Solutions

Step 1: Align the Paper Selection Lever

If the Paper Path Selector Lever is set to an intermediate or wrong position, the printer throws the E08 state:
  1. Locate the Paper Select Lever on the top-right side of the chassis.
  2. Adjust the lever completely to your desired source (forward for sheet feeds, backward for tractor feed).
  3. Ensure the lever snaps firmly into the selected detent. If it floats loosely, the micro-switches inside will trigger E08.

Step 2: Clean Contacts and Reinstall the Optional CSF

If you have an optional sheet feeder unit attached:
  1. Turn off the printer power.
  2. Unmount the optional cut-sheet feeder from the printer back.
  3. Clean the gold connection terminals on both the feeder unit and the printer interface with a dry cotton swab to eliminate dust and paper particles.
  4. Push the CSF firmly back in place until it clicks securely. Turn the printer back on to verify.

Yes. If you don't require the optional CSF feeder, you can detatch it, select the standard rear tractor path with the side lever, and print normally without seeing E08.
